Frequently Asked Questions
What is a KOSO enzyme bath?
A KOSO enzyme bath is a traditional Japanese wellness treatment using naturally fermented rice bran. The gentle heat generated through fermentation warms your body from the inside out, promoting relaxation, detoxification, and improved circulation.
What are the benefits?
Deep relaxation
Detox support
Improved circulation
Skin clarity
Stress relief
Is it safe?
Yes, the heat is naturally generated through fermentation, without the use of electricity or gas. It is gentle and safe for most people. However, if you have any medical conditions, please consult with us in advance.
Does the enzyme give off an odor?
There is a natural fermented aroma, similar to rice or miso. It is not unpleasant, and our space is designed with proper ventilation to ensure a comfortable experience.
How hot is it?
The temperature typically ranges from 140–158°F but it feels comfortable because it is a natural, moist heat rather than a dry heat like a sauna.
How long is the session?
The enzyme bath itself lasts about 15–20 minutes, followed by a shower and dedicated relaxation time, as the experience is deeply warming and your body benefits from time to fully unwind and recover.
What should I wear?
We provide a clean, short-sleeve top and shorts for your comfort during the enzyme bath. All garments are carefully washed and maintained to ensure hygiene. If you are sensitive to heat, you are welcome to bring a long-sleeve shirt or leggings. This will not significantly affect the benefits of the experience.
Who should avoid the enzyme bath?
Pregnant individuals, those with serious medical conditions, or anyone feeling unwell should consult with us before booking. If you have a chronic illness or a heart condition, we recommend consulting with your physician prior to your visit.
Do you offer other services?
we also offer head spa and facial treatments to complement your enzyme bath experience. Because your body is already deeply warmed, you can experience a deeper level of relaxation and overall rejuvenation.
